Today we celebrated our basketball season with a party at Pizza Shoppe. It was such a fun season! Thanks for coaching Mr. Luke and dad!!!

Playing to win!!
The girls were excited to play a race to win game this morning. It was a game my team developed when I was in the party business 8 years ago! In fact, tons of the party games and the pillow case craft came from my hallmark party stash! I think it's so cool that Kate used them so many years later!!
Last kiddos to leave
The girls were super excited to gather and hand out all the party favors when each mom came to pick up. Lily and Addi were the last to leave with a 10:30 pickup. In fact, Addi just stayed until we all headed to the basketball team lunch! Let the party continue!!

Talk and toss ball
Kate and I made a talk and toss ball that the girls played this morning. They would pass the ball around and answer questions like "what's your favorite pizza topping" or "what job do you want when you grow up". They had fun, but I must admit I thought it would be much more minutes of entertainment! Definitely took longer to make than play!!!
Photo props!!
Was super excited that the girls decided to get some pictures at the photo prop station we set up....cute!

Slumber party morning
The girls woke up about 7:00 this morning and were immediately hungry! We had donuts and yogurt parfaits then the playing started!
We had piano players, book readers, house players, basketball players, doll players and total mayhem!!! Fun times for the girls!

87.5% success
Think I may have just 1 more kiddo awake (11:24pm) Please fall asleep soon as I'm tired and you keep playing with your plastic Kleenex packet you brought and it's driving me bonkers! I want to go to sleep!!
Note that 6/8 now have blankets covering the opening of their tent. We also have a few who snore!

Melatonin
Autumn just came over to my sleeping spot on the couch and asked if I had melatonin and told me she should take "approximately 1 hour before she can fall asleep". Lord help me.

Almost asleep...
Some are asleep while others appear to be still trying! In order to get to this point (at 10:42pm) it required much negotiating and creative thinking. Half the tent lights on for those wanting light and half the tent lights off for those wanting dark. And...when it just was not dark enough....gathering blankets to cover the front of the tent. And this was after the girls had a hard time deciding if they wanted to sleep head in the tent or head out of the tent. Since that required sleeping bag adjustments I was needed to help...oh, it also caused tent disconnections which require my assistance.
Now 7 out of 8 are awake with no line of site to 100% success as the periodic questions to "Miss Anne" or "Mrs. Horton" or trips to the bathroom disturb and start a chain reaction!!
Oh my!

Slumber party night time fun!!
The girls are having such a fun night! It is much more work than I ever imagined as there has been some 8 year old drama I've had to deal with, but boy have they had fun!
They had Chick-fil-a chicken, berries and chips for dinner, made their own lip balm and lotion, opened gifts, sang happy birthday and ate cookie cake, had a dance party and even decorated our own pillow cases!
The girls loved the decorations and sleeping tent and really lived their party favors (matching pjs for themselves and their doll)!
I'm able to blog right now as they are relaxing and watching a movie (Ella Enchanted)! Straight to bed after this. Thinking it may be about 10:30 before they are asleep....maybe they will sleep in until 8am??? Please!!
Love,
Kate
