Problem solver

This morning the wheel on my babies stroller came off. Mommy fixed it for me, but then I thought it was fun to keep taking it off and to "do it myself".

I would take the wheel off and say that I was "solving the problem". That is right...I actually said "solving the problem". The first time because I probably heard mommy or daddy say that, but then the 11th and 12th time I said it because mommy and daddy found it so humorous that they would chuckle every time I said it....basically, I knew I had a good one!!

After I fixed it I would tell mommy and daddy "Kate fixed it".

My new phrases...

Some of my new things I say all the time now are:
"I love it" - referring to my Gorilla book, pancakes and all things fun and yummy!

"That's cool" - there are lots of cool things out there and I will let you know what I think is the coolest!

2 year doctor appointment!

Daddy took me to my 2 year doctor appointment this week. I was a really good girl and did not cry until I got my shot. Luckily I only had to get one shot - flu shot! Here are my most recent stats: 28.6 lbs (74th percentile) and 35" tall (80th percentile)! I am a tall girl for my age...can you believe it.

Here were my stats from my 1 year appointment:
24lbs and 3 oz (87th percentile), am 29" long (36th percentile) and have a head circumference of 18" (67th percentile).

I sure have grown a lot this year!

Story Time!

Nama and I started going to story time every Tuesday at Pottery barn Kids. We have so much fun together there. We listen to the lady read a story and then we do a song. Last week she sang the "Hokey Pokey". This week we sang "Wheels on the Bus". I have so much fun and sing along, although I stay really close to Nama.

When Nama told me that this weeks story time was over I said "No Nama, she did not sing Hokey Pokey". See, last week the lady ended story time with "Hokey Pokey". Nama thought I was so smart for remembering! We went up to the lady and ask her about it...she said we will all sing "Hokey Pokey" next week! Yeah!!

SPA!

Today was my first ever trip to the spa and I got my nails done! All pink and pretty - I even got 2 flowers and 2 diamonds! Mommy got her nails done too while I sat on daddy's lap and got mine done. I did such a good job and was very patient with it all, even sat in front of the dryer until my nails were all dry! I love getting my nails done and can see it being a weekly event...hahaha!!!

Happy Birthday to Me!

I had the best birthday EVER! Mommy, Daddy and I went to Wonderscope – a children’s museum and had so much fun! I got to roll balls around, play in a pretend hospital room, play with water, play in a Legoland, shopped in the grocery store, climb around cool stuff and so much more! After Wonderscope we went to one of my favorite restaurants…McDonalds for lunch! Mmm…I had chicken nuggets!

Then we went home for a nap. When I woke up we played in my playroom for awhile and then got ready for Chuck-e-Cheese! I wore my ballerina outfit with my birthday shirt all day and loved it! Name Vicki, Papa Dick, Nama, Papa, Aunt Jenny, Uncle Rob and Anna met mommy, daddy and I there! We had a great corner in the restaurant and 2 tables for us to sit on end even tables for us to put the food and LOTS of presents! There were a lot of other parties there, but our corner allowed for us to have our own little party undisturbed by all the craziness!

I played on the slide (my favorite), rode a horsey, played skeet ball and did lots of other fun games! My favorite though is when Chuck-E came out to wish all the birthday boys and girls happy birthday! You will not believe but he came right out the door next to our tables!!! It was so cool because I was the first birthday girl he saw and gave a high five to! It made me so happy and excited that I followed (stalked as Nama calls it) Chuck-E for awhile. He patted my head and gave me a hug and one more high five! He is so cool!

Everyone sang my happy birthday (I even sang it to myself) and we had a really yummy cookie cake! I got lots of fun presents too…dress up clothes, Princess Barbie dolls, PJ's, bathing suit, a dress, a Minnie Mouse golf set (thanks Uncle Chris), a book, Snow White DVD, iron and ironing board, a washing machine, My Little Pony, a baby doll, Play dough stuff, etc…..but my all time favorite of the night was the rain boots and umbrella! I wanted to carry that umbrella all over Chuck-E-Cheese and I DID wear the rain boots all night!

Another cute thing I said...

Today while mommy and I were rocking before my nap I was doing funny things to make her laugh! After I did all those funny things I looked right up to her and said "Kate drives mommy bonkers"! Mommy cracked up and she and laughed and laughed!

Last day until....

I am 2! This is the official last day mommy and daddy have to tell everyone my age in months! Goodbye 23 months and HELLO 2!

I am so excited for tomorrow because mom and dad are taking off work to spend the whole day with me! We are going to Wonderscope children's museum to play and then to lunch! After my nap Nama, Papa, Nama Vicki, Papa Dick, Aunt Jenny, Uncle Rob Rob and Anna are all meeting us at Chuck-e-Cheese for yet another birthday celebration! I can't wait for tomorrow!

Mommy is amazed at all I say...

"I'll wait for you mommy...until you get all ready" was what I told her today when we were in her closet while she got her pjs on.

Mommy asked me "what color is mommy's shirt?" I said "Jayhawk color!" Red that is!!

Sydney

My best friend Sydney’s baby sitter had to be in the hospital for 6 days because she had RSV. Luckily Ella is okay! I was lucky enough to get to play for Sydney at Nama’s house for an entire morning! Mommy took off the morning of work and stayed and played with Sydney, Nama and me and we had so much fun! I showed Sydney all over Nama’s house. We colored, played with the jeep, did the balance beam, played pool, ate breakfast and lunch, played in the playroom, walked around and had a blast! I can’t wait until the next time I get to play with her!

Black Eye!

Well, Super Bowl Sunday was not just a rough day for the Colts!!! I was having so much fun with my cousin Tom and running all over Nama and Papa's basement when all of the sudden my face crashed into the table...right into the corner of it! Everyone rushed over to me right when it happened and I had a HUGE purple bruise within seconds! It got swollen so they all made me put ice on it! That is when I got really upset...I hate having to put ice on my boo boos. Well, take a look at the injury! Hopefully my first and last black eye!

"Sha na na na, sha na na na, hey hey hey....

...Mommy hold 'ya!" This is the new version of the song I sing and I think it is hilarious! I say "Kate's funny" after it.

In fact, mommy forgot the words I changed to the song and she asked me the other day and I sang it to remind her!

Sometimes I sing...'sha na na na, sha na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye" AND then to be funny sometimes I sing "sha na na na, sha na na na, hey hey hey, mammy hold 'ya!"

Not Again...

Kahboing...

About 5am I cried for mommy and daddy and they were so nice to let me sleep in there bed! Well, mommy got up this morning to get ready and about 3 minutes late "KAHBOING".....I fell right off the really tall KING sized bed! I was sound asleep and this was not a fun way to wake up! I cried like crazy and was not happy at all, but I was okay! Hopefully that does not ever happen again!

Daddy's macaroni

I am a macaroni and cheese expert as it is my favorite food! I have lots of different mac 'n cheeses I like:
Kate's mac 'n cheese (Kraft)
Nama's mac 'n cheese (still Kraft, but called Nama's when she makes it)
AND....my all time favorite
Daddy's macaroni (notice I do not call it mac 'n cheese as it it Velveeta Shells and Cheese and the best of them all)!!

Sydney's Birthday Party!

Sydney had her birthday party the same morning Tom and I had ours! It was SO much fun! They had it at this really cool climbing place! Imagine the coolest McDonalds playland time 100! It was so big and had so much to play in and Sydney had it all to herself for her party! It was big enough that even grownups could climb in it!

Mommy took me as Daddy was busy getting ready for my big party! Mom and I had so much fun! We climbed, went down slides, laughed and played like crazy! I met a bunch of Sydney’s little friends and had a blast!

Maybe Tom and I will have our birthday party their next year!

My Birthday Party!!

Tom and I had our Birthday parties together since our birthdays are so close! It was so much fun! We had a Mickey and Minnie Mouse theme and Mom and Aunt Carolyn went all out decorating for it! We had 15 gigantic Mickey Mouse head balloons, streamers, shaped balloons on the floor, punching balloons, pretty tourquise and red decorations everywhere, centerpieces, happy birthday banners, piñatas and all sorts of fun things!

We had about 35 people come, so our house was really full of most of my friends and family! The party started at 4pm and lasted until late into the night! Tom and I had so much fun…we even had our own Mickey and Minnie Mouse dolls and hats!

We played with a fun toss game Aunt Carolyn made and then got to race to see who could get the most candy in their bag with the piñata! We both got lots of fun presents and had so much fun blowing out the candles on our cakes! What is even cooler is that my real birthday is not until February 19th and I heard I have a few more presents to open then…YIPPEE! Sounds like I am making February my birthday MONTH (just like my Aunt Jenny does with December)!

I can’t wait until my next birthday party! Thanks to EVERYONE who came!
