Fun Day!

Today was Nama’s real birthday and we celebrated by going to City Market and then going to the Crown Center fountains! It was such a fun day! We walked around and bought lots of fruit, vegetables and flowers at City Market. We even ate at a fun Italian market where I got a yummy turkey leg! I almost rode the train – but then I go t scared. I think I will like it when I am 3!

My favorite part of the day was the fountains at Crown Center! It is right at Hallmark where mommy works! We put on my bathing suit and Daddy showed me how to run through the fountains! I was a wild girl once I saw what to do and I ran in and out of the fountains like a pro! I giggled, got so excited and had so much fun! I played and played I the fountains! I can’t wait to go back!

Happy Birthday Nama!

I had so much fun at Nama’s birthday party! It nay have been the most excited I have ever been for a party! I got to wear a really cool pink party dress too! We all took Nama out to Garozzo’s for her birthday dinner! Everyone had a yummy dinner and I got a special treat – a strawberry daiquiri. It looked just like the one mommy got but without the booze and I LOVED it!

After dinner we went back to Namas and Papa’s house for cake and PRESENTS! I was so excited for everything. I made sure we had candles for me and Nama to blow out and was really disappointed mommy forgot birthday party hats for us all to wear! I helped Nama open all her fun presents too!

I even put on a show where I re-enacted The Wizard of Oz for everyone! I acted like Dorothy and fell asleep in the field of poppies, I ran away from the Wicked Witch, I sang “Somewhere over the Rainbow”, I clicked my heals and said “there’s no place like home”. I did it all and loved it so much! Nama thinks I am pretty dramatic and that I will be in theater one day!

Cupcakes and yogurt!!

The Farm!

Nama, Pap, daddy, mommy and me all went to the farm to walk around and to go fishing! It was so cool – although I really did not want anything to do with the fishing part! Daddy and Papa did good and caught some sunny’s.

What was really cool was it started to rain a bit and then it POURED!! We were stuck on one side of the farm and because it was thundering and lightening so badly they closed the farm and made us all run to the entrance! I thought it was hilarious!!! Daddy carried me as we all ran as fast as we could to the entrance! We were all soaked! So much fun!

4th of July

I just realized that I am behind on telling you some fun stuff I did this month! For the 4th of July Nama Vicki, Papa Dick, Mommy, Daddy and I all went over to Nama and Papa’s for a fun party! We had fireworks that Nama Vicki brought that we let off too! It got really rainy so the BIG official fireworks got cancelled. That was okay though…we had so much fun!

Healthy

Nama and I were eating lunch the other day....eating Doritos! Nama said to me "we should not be eating Doritos Kate. Your mommy and daddy want you to eat healthy." I said "I know. They want me to eat all my vegetables"!! Funny thing was, Nama was surprised I knew what she was talking about! I know what "healthy is"!

Nama's Birthday

Today Nama and I were making the bed and Nama asked me to guess who's birthday was in a few days. For some reason I could not guess so she told me her bday is Saturday. I was pretty excited and asked her "What are you going to wear?". Nama thought that was pretty funny!

Cousin Sleepover!

I had so much fun last week because Tom, Meghan, Anna, Aunt Carolyn, Uncle Tom and Aunt Jenny came in town! Daddy went out of town to Las Vegas for a boys trip so mommy and I had a sleep over at Nama and Papa's with everybody!

I love playing with my cousins. Tom and I spent a lot of time playing garbage truck on Nama's stairs! Someone would be the driver (we tried to recruit people so Tom and I could be the trash picker upper kids) and Tom and I would jump off the steps and run to pick up the trash. We would throw the trash in the garbage truck, return the garbage can and then do it over and over and over again until all the trash in the world was picked up! This fun game lasted about 7 days!

We went to the pool, played like crazy and I introduced Tom to "The Wizard of Oz (which he really liked)! We had so much fun! I can't wait to see him again. We will have to go down to Dallas as it will be awhile until they can come back to Kansas. Aunt Carolyn is pregnant and can't travel much anymore!

I can't wait until our next cousin get-together!

Ruby Slippers!

The long awaited ruby red slippers arrived last week!! Last Tuesday to be exact and I have had a very fun week wearing them whenever I can. I love to dress up like Dorothy every chance I have and beg mom every morning to dress me in my Dorothy outfit. She usually won't let me and we take the outfit to Nama's. As soon as I get dropped off I remove whatever silly outfit mom makes me wear and become Dorothy ALL DAY LONG! Cousin Tom loved my red slippers too and called them "rubies" - something that I talk about all the time: "Tom calls them rubies". I will post pictures as soon as mom gets on the ball and downloads them to our computer!

Amazon!

I love to get online with Nama, mommy or daddy and get on amazon.com! They have the coolest stuff! I love to look at all the Barbie things they have! I always have Nama Barbie Glam Vacation House and watch the video! I even know the song now "Barbie Dream Vacation House...living room, bedroom, bathroom, second story..."!! Mommy ordered me Dorothy red ruby slippers from amazon. I have to say that it is taking SO LONG to get to my house though! I check on them everyday...and they are still at Amazon! Hopefully they will come tomorrow!!!

My new bedtime routine!

Tonight as I was trying to get to sleep I spent about 1 1 /2 hours talking and singing to myself. Ever since paci has been take away by that darn paci fairy falling asleep at night is not easy for me. Tonight I talked about "The Wizard of Oz" and said who in my family is what character (Tom is a lollipop kid, Nama is Auntie Em, etc...), I sang just about every song I know and I talked to the paci fairy and told her "no, give me back my pacis!". I played and talked to all my babies and acted like their mommy. I changed Lambies big girl panties because she had an accident, I talked about my ruby slippers I am still waiting for Amazon to deliver and stayed up as late as I possibly could! I love to play and chill in my room! No bedtime for me!

"I missed you"

This is one of my most common phrases lately. Any time mommy comes home from work, takes a shower, runs an errand or even gets out of my site for more than 2 minutes I tell her "I missed you"! She really seems to like it, so I will keep it up!

Dorothy!

All I am missing are the shoes!! Mommy and I found this dress in my closet and I look just like Dorothy! Nama had the basket and Toto….I actually have 2 Toto’s I play with (a big one and a little one)! Call my “Dorothy from Kanasas”!!

Dress Up!!

I got a bunch of dress up clothes for Christmas this past year. I always thought the stuff was cool, but never as cool as I now think it is. I love dress up time. The closet in my playroom is all set up like a dressing room - it has my vanity, my makeup and all my play clothes!! Take a look at a few of my costumes (Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Snow White and a Flapper Girl)!!!

Blueberry Patch

Today, Me, Mommy and Daddy drove to a Blueberry Pacth to pick Blueberry's. Mommy and Daddy picked the Blueberry's and put them in their tub and I ate them out of the tub! It was fun!

DAy 5: Operation No Paci - SET BACK!

Well, let's just say nap time was not very pleasant today. I screamed, wined, begged and bartered for 1 1/2 hours until finally mommy gave in to my sobs and let me nap in her and daddy's room. I slept in the middle of their bed all by myself and it was so cool! Tonight for bedtime I was a much better girl (probably because I went down WAY later than normal and was exhausted) and did not cry at all!

Day 4: Operation No paci...UPDATE

You will not believe it, but I went to bed tonight without crying even one bit! I did not mention paci at all either! Daddy promised to leave the door open when I went to sleep and Mommy rocked me for a little bit. When she put me in bed she pretended I was Dorothy, got me Toto, tucked me in and gave me hugs and kisses. She kept the door opened like they promised and I never dried once! I am a BIG girl!

Tom

I like to pretend Tom is here. Sometimes we play baseball together, sometimes we just sit and play with silly bandz! It is fun to pretend, but I sure miss my cousin. I talk about him all the time and can't wait for him to come back into town in a few weeks! I love you Tom!

"I'm Dorothy"

As you all know by now, I love the Wizard of Oz and I love pretending. I am now telling everyone to call me Dorothy - especially when I carry around Toto. If someone calls me Kate I tell them, "no, I'm Dorothy". I even know some of the song already and sing them. Now all I need are the red ruby slippers.

I love the Wizard of Oz and today Nama found a basket and a doggie we called Toto. I pretended I was Dorothy all day long. I even asked to take my nap with Toto. After Nama put me to bed at nap time today she heard me through the monitor saying "there's no place like home, there's no place like home...". She thought that was really cute!

My first spelling word!

I can't remember if I told you all or not but at the tender age of 2 I already know how to spell!! My first word was "P.A.C.I". The other day in the car I asked mommy and daddy "guess what I am thinking about...I am thinking of something I suck on....P.A.C.I!". They could not believe I could spell my most favorite thing. What they do not realize is that I listen to EVERYTHING that they say and sometimes they would spell paci when they did not want me to know what they were talking about. Funny thing is...I ALWAYS knew what they were talking about! Sometimes they underestimate me!

Day 3: Operation "No Paci's"

Still very bad, bad, bad!

Not going to sleep well and letting everyone know it. In fact I told Nama at nap today today that I wanted to "get outta this house" and that "I do not want to play with Barbie and Ken when I wake up from my nap" - that is how mad I was!

I am still talking about pacis a lot, but not as much as day 1. We will see how I survive day 4.

Bedtime talk

As mommy was rocking me tonight (for the 2nd time) I was having a conversation that she found pretty amusing. She told me that it was bedtime in a few minutes so I played out and talked her through what our conversation was going to be like....

"Mommy will say "it's bedtime Kate" and I will say "I do not want to go to bed, I want to rocky rock some more". Mommy will say "you have to go to bed and stop crying". I will not want to go to bed and tell mommy "I want to go into mommy and daddy's bed and cuddle and play"......". This went on for a few minutes until mommy broke up all the fun and put me back in bed! I creid some more.

"July will be a big Month"

Mommy keeps talking about how July will be a big month for us. She thinks I will be potty trained and paci free by the end of this month. A pretty big goal if you ask me! It is only day 6 and it is pretty hard without paci! I have been trying big girl panties and I really love them. I have Princess Tiana one's, Hello Kitty one's, Minnie Mouse one's and Tinker Bell one's. The are all really cool and I do a good job wearing them for pretty long stretches. The problem is...I do not want to go potty in the big girl potty. Once I get my diaper back on (for naps and bed time) I pee and poop in my diaper.

Everyone is really proud of me when I wear the panties though and I am proud of myself! We will see pretty soon how big of a month July is. I will keep you posted!

Bedtime Procrastination!

Now that I do not have pacis it is really hard to go to sleep. So hard to go to sleep that I scream, bawl and procrastinate sleeping any way I can possibly think of. Tonight I begged mommy and daddy for more hugs, kisses, rocky rocks, cuddles, glasses of water and even told them multiple times I had to go potty on the big girl potty (they fell for it once). I scream and cry and loud and as hard as possible so they understand the kind of pain I am in without my paci. Wouldn't you miss the one thing that soothed and comforted you for the last 2 years 4 months and 17 days? I thought so!

Goodbye Pacis! I love you!

I learned of a horrific little fairy called "Paci Fairy"! It appears she came to my room the other night and took all my pacis to give them to baby girls and baby boys that need them. As everybody has been telling me "I am too big for pacis". In exchange for my wonderful pacis she left me a TinkerBell Pez candy thing that I really love and $1 so that I could shop and pick out something else for me to sleep with (instead of my wonderful and favorite pacis). I was really excited about the loot under my pillow, but NOT excited about her taking all my pacis - after all, they are my best friends!

Last night was a hard night for everyone. Finally mommy and daddy conceding to my crying and screaming and let me sleep in their room (something mommy mentioned will not happen again). Once I was in there room I magically forgot about paci and fell to sleep.

I was sad to learn that the paci fairy ALSO went to Nama's house and took away all my pacis there. I had a big cry at nap time (something I never do), but finally fell asleep.

Tonight mommy and daddy took me to Babies R Us (the store I picked out) to shop for my Paci Fairy present. I got the coolest bright yellow duck stuffed animals. I love both stuffed animals and ducky's - so this is the perfect combination. I named him "Quack Quack" and the plan is to sleep with him for now on and whenever I think of pacis hug and squeeze Quack Quack. I am not sure it is going to work, but I will try!

I will forever love my Pacis and miss them terribly!

Chicken Nuggets

Mommy and I met Daddy at Wendy's for lunch yesterday. As we were driving to Wendy's mommy asked me what I wanted to eat - she said "Kate do you want chicken nuggets or a hamburger?". I told her I wanted a hamburger. When she asked me why I did not want chicken nuggets I told her "chicken nuggets are for McDonalds!" Mommy thought that was so funny!

The Wizard of Oz!

I really like to watch movies at home. The newest one I am watching is “The Wizard of Oz”. Mommy did not know if I was old enough to like it or not….well….I LOVE it! I love Dorothy, the Wicked Witch of the West, the Lion, Scarecrow, The Tin Man, the Professor, the Munchkins and TOTO! My favorite part of the movie is when Dorothy lands in Munchkinland and the ruby slippers magically come off of the Wicked Witch of the East (who is dead) and onto Dorothy’s feet! It is so cool…I always ask to “fast forward it” (although I mean rewind)! I also notice (and point out to everyone every time we watch it) that the Wicked Witch of the West has on black shoes (I LOVE shoes)! I can’t wait to get some of my own ruby slippers!! Maybe I should be Dorothy for Halloween and mommy could be the bad Witch, daddy the Lion, Papa Dick the Scarecrow, Papa the Professor, Nama Vicki the Good Witch, Nama Auntie Em, Uncle Rob a munchkin (ha!), Uncle Tom the Mayor of Munchkinland, Uncle Chris the Tin Man, Aunt Jenny and Aunt Carolyn can each be one of those scary monkey’s, Anna & Meghan the Lullabye League Munchkins and Tom the Lollipop Guild munchkin!!! Oh, and Peanut can be Toto!

Sleeping Beauty

I love to pretend. My newest thing I like to do is pretend I am Sleeping Beauty. I pretend I have fallen asleep on the floor (I make princess like sounds as I am asleep too) and then make someone be the Prince who can only wake me up by giving me a kiss! I also like to be the princess sometimes! I played this with Nama, Nama Vicki, Mommy and Papa Dick last night! It is so fun…I could play it for hours!
