K-A-T-E

Grama has been teaching me lots of stuff and I am a fast learner. When we play with sidewalk chalk outside she always writes my name, Tom, Meghan and Anna on the sidewalk and spells each name out for me. I now know how to say the letters of my name....K-A-T-E! I am especially good at the T-E part!!! I get so excited for the E that I screech it out really loud and get very excited!! Now, whenever I see a pen, pencil, chalk, marker, crayon, paper, etc...I say "E-E-E-E"....I want to try to write my name like Grama does!!

1,2,3,4,5,6

Guess what? I can count to 6!! I get a little frustrated whenever anyone counts to 7,8,9 & 10 because I don't know those numbers yet. I ask them to stop and say "no, no, no"! I do love counting though! Maybe when I get big I will be an accountant! Cool! heehee!

Music at Grama's

I listen to the same few CDs at Grama's everyday! I love them so much that I know and sing to them! It is so cool! Everyone thinks I am a pretty smart little girl!! Maybe one day I will be a professional singer...hee hee!!

Cousin Meghan Riley Fimmen!!

I am so excited that my first girl cousin came to the world on Thursday, June 25th!! Her name is Meghan and I can't wait to meet her...she looks so cute and cuddly. Grama and Pa went to Texas to see her and Aunt Jenny was nice enough to watch me at the last minute. I had so much fun playing with "P" and all the cool toys at her house!

Look at all the fun pictures Aunt Carolyn and Uncle Tom sent us! Cousin Tom is getting so big...he has a big boy haircut too!

Reading with Pa...Video

If you're happy and you know it...video!

It takes a while to upload my photos, so I thought I would blog you a note when I get the chance and then when I have longer I would send you all my recent photos...here they are!

I got a new adorable pink rocking chair that is just my size. I love to chill on and near it!:

I just loved stuffed animals....lamby and beary are 2 of my favs!

I love to read and to be read to. Here I am at Grama and Pa Fimmen's house:

Grama Fimmen has the coolest stereo that is just my size. I know how to turn it on and everything. Here I am playing with it and dancing to "if you're happy and you know it clap your hands"

Although Mom and Dad have managed to rid me of the bottle...they will never be able to do it to the PACI! I just love my paci and love to give it kisses!

This is Father's Day....mom, dad and I took pictures by a water fall...cool!

We all took Pa Fimmen and Daddy and Uncle Rob to Cinzetti's. They have a really cool fountain I played in! Father's Day night we took Pa Horton out to dinner, but mommy forgot to take out her camera and get pics...sorry!

Have I ever told you how much I love to chill? Here I am chillin' and watching some TV!

Time Out!

OMG!! Mommy and Daddy tried this new thing called "time out" and it is not cool at all. When I do bad things...so far hiding behind the curtains and pulling on them or playing in Murphy's water or food bowl they put me in the corner to stand by myself for 1 whole minute. I made sure they knew how unhappy I was about this and made up a new cry that they did not like (ha!) and I kept trying to get out of the corner. What I learned is that my minute in the corner does not start until I stay still and it restarts if I get out of the corner....not cool!

They just started this punishment yesterday and it is already working on me. Tonight when mommy said "no no no" when I got close to the curtains with the intention of hiding behind them and pulling on them I backed away and did not get into trouble. I think they are teaching me something...mommy and daddy looked proud of themselves. Hmm....

New stuff!

I have been very busy learning all sorts of things lately! I can say "car", "bus" and "truck" and love to ride in the car and call out all the fun vehicles I see!

Grama F. taught me the song "1 little, 2 little, 3 little Indians" and I count on my hands when she sings it...at the end of the song we make Indian sounds!! So much fun I make her do it over and over again!

I really like rotisserie chicken and yogurt! I ask for yogurt every night. Mom and dad say that is a good thing since I have been a rascal and will still not drink milk out of a cup! I have to get my calcium from somewhere. They are still trying to get me to eat string cheese, but I am not sure of it!

I am loving my books more and more every day! Dad reads the coolest nook to me that I now know how to read some of it...I can turn each page and say what is on it...like "ball, book, chair, hat, pillow, banana (I call them "nannies"), girl, boy, etc". It is so much fun to read!

Grama F. is trying to teach me to spell my name. I think it will take a bit to get that one down...but I am trying!

This weekend is Father's Day and I am going to try to make it special for Daddy and my Pa's!! Happy Father's Day!

This week!

This week was lots of fun! Since Grama and Pa Fimmen are out of town I got to have lots of people watch me all week long. I do miss Grama and Pa though...they come home tomorrow!! On Monday Mommy stayed home and we went shopping and played all day long. Daddy stayed home Tuesday and Wednesday and we played so much and even went to the gym together! On Thursday Pa Horton watched me and I kept him so busy outside! We went up and down the deck stairs hundreds of times! Grama Horton watched me on Friday and we watched Barney and played like crazy!! She even watched me last night when mom and dad went to the Royals game with people from moms work!

Thursday was Grama Horton's Bday so we took her out to dinner. I wanted to hang out with her all dinner long and got so mad whenever anyone took me away from her! After dinner we went to get ice cream at Dairy Queen. I was so excited and kept saying "ice cream" over and over again, but once we got there I was not as excited about eating it! Oh well! Happy Bday Grama!

I am so lucky to have so many people who love me and like spending time with me! Thanks everyone!

The gym

When mom and dad both go to the gym together I get to go with them and they take me to the daycare. Usually I have lots of fun playing with the toys, other kids and teachers, but not today! I was really mad when mom and dad dropped me off. So mad that mom had to stick around awhile with me until I stopped showing her how mad I was. A teacher had to come over and take me from mom so mom could work out...that only made me madder. I am one smart girl and I learned that if I make a big enough fuss the teachers will call mom and dad (over the loud speaker) back down to the daycare to rescue me! That is exactly what happened today...brilliant! I will have to remember that one! haha! They picked me up and we went right home to play!

Reading!

Daddy has stayed home from work the past 2 days to watch me because Grama & Pa are in Massachusetts getting their house all packed up to move! I have had so much fun with my Daddy! He is teaching me how to read a color book I have and to pick out all the fun objects and say what they are. I am already getting really good at it. I can point out and say things like "boot, balloon, ball, shoe, sock, banana (I call them "nannie's"), purse, duckie, car, shirt, pants, fork" and lots more! Daddy would be a really good teacher! I love my Daddy!

Tomorrow Pa Horton is watching me and Friday Grama Horton is watching me...I love my family and am so lucky they can watch me!

I only like milk in bottles!

I am having a very hard week. Mom and Dad thought that they would be mean and stop giving me my bottles cold turkey! I was down to 2 a day and just loved them! They even have the nerve to try to get me to drink my milk in cups! They have tried at least 5 different cup options, but they can't fool me...I know it is milk. Milk is only good in a bottle! I will not drink them and I have a huge fit just to show them how mad I am! I scream, say "no no no" and arch my back and make a big fuss! The first time mom tried to trick me with milk in a sippy cup I was so surprised and disgusted that I threw up all over myself and her...I showed her!

Mom took me to the doctor last week and they recommended she stop the bottle and mom and dad listened! I remember my mom reading somewhere that I did not have to stop the bottle until I was 18 months old...that would buy me some time with my favorite morning and evening snack, but they are stopping it now! A bottle is such a cheery way to start my day and such a relaxing way to end my nights! Even though I know mom and dad miss the special time they had with me when feeding me my bottle they will not back down on this torture! If they think this is bad just wait until they try to take away my paci...that will be WAR!

I know they are both stressed out at finding other ways to get me my calcium throughout the day. So far they have tried sweet potatoes (I am not too sure about those), yogurt (I really like it), cheese and a few other things. I hear they are going to the store to buy calcium fortified OJ (whatever that is), pudding (sounds tasty), cottage cheese (don't think I will like that) and some other weird stuff. I don't know why they are going out of their way...I am sure mac and cheese has all the calcium I need!!! heehee!

Well, I will keep you posted on this bottle thing. I sure do miss it, but I think I will never get to drink out of one again!! Darn!

15 1/2 months old!

I have been really busy exploring and learning all sorts of new things this week! We joined a new gym that is so cool! I love to go to the pool there....it is like being in Florida! They have the coolest twirly slides and I can not wait til I get old enough and I can go down them! They also have a neat fountain that I love to go under...it gets me all wet!

I have decided I want to stay up later than my normal 7:15 or 7:30 time frame. So, I have been staying up until at least 8pm! I love that I get to see mommy and daddy more! Grama taught me to walk on my tippy toes and I am really good at it! I even run around on my tippy toes when you say "tippy toes tippy toes"! It makes everyone laugh!

I say "medicine" and don't mind taking mine! I also say "chicken", "fruit", "Fork" and "mailman"! I am starting to do more 2 and 3 word phrases like " 1, 2 bus" and "out da door".

I am learning how to count and always say "2: in the right place...just need to learn the rest of the numbers! I love it when we are at the pool and daddy says "1, 2, 3...jump" and I jump right in the water at "3"!

I love to march around and even move my arms in marching order! Grama got me a pool for her house and we have lots of fun playing in the water for a lot of the day while mommy and daddy are at work! Oh yeah, I can say "work". I am working on learning to say "H&R Block" and "Hallmark"!

I think that is all for this past week! Hope everyone has a great week!

Chill!

So, Grama F. had the coolest chairs waiting for me when we got back from our vacation in Florida! They are just my size and I love to "chill" in them. I even say "chill". I sit back, relax and even put my feet up on the arms! It is so cool! She also got me lots of play food for my kitchen at her house. I spend all day long playing with my kitchen. I love to "cook"...I even say "cook" when I do it or when anyone else cooks a real dinner!!

Pittsburg!

Last Sunday we went down to Pittsburg so Daddy could help Great Grandpa lay mulch in the yard and to see everyone! I got to lay with Grama, Great Grama and Great Grandpa! It was so much fun! I even got to eat McDonalds Chicken McNuggets...Mmmm...one of my favorites!

We went to the mall deli and then got to walk around the mall and throw pennies in the fountain. I just LOVE to throw pennies in the fountain with Great Grama and Grandpa!! Luckily, Great Grandpa brought LOTS of pennies!!

After the mall we went back to Great Grama and Grandpa's house and ate yummy chocolate cake Great Grama made. Mmm, boy did I love the cake!!

I can't wait for my next trip to Pittsburg!
I love you!
