This years Super Bowl parade was amazing. We stayed at the Westin like last year. The night before we explored all the fun at Union Station then got up early to get a front row spot for the parade. We got photos of all the players, had upfront interactions, touched the Super Bowl trophy and Travis Kelce. It was amazing! We had a blast!
We watched the rally from the Westin lawn then headed up to hotel room. As we were on the elevator someone looked out the window to call out people were running, there was a mass shooting and tragically someone died.
We were scared and told to shelter in our hotel room. We saw everything unfold from our hotel room with and ing views of union station. We saw people being taken to ambulances, people run, hundreds of police offices run, chaos outside our hotel…everything scary. The alarms went off multiple times at our hotel and it was scary, we moved the mattress in front of the hotel room door and waited it out. Hours later when it was deemed safe we all went together to our cars and drove safely home.
Such a sad day that started out so wonderful.
