I have been one busy girl!

Hi Everyone! It has been awhile since I had the time to blog...sorry! I have been really busy and have been learning and doing all sorts of new things. Every day I have a new trick!! Here is a little update...

I love to watch "Ba" (Barney that is). He is the coolest purple dinosaur ever! I just love music and his shows are jammed packed with songs and dances! I even know some of them now. I can do the actions to the song "if you're happy and you know it"! Everyone finds that pretty neat. I clap my hands, throw my hands up for hurray and let me "face show it" by pointing to my face. I love Barney so much that I bring the remote control over to mom and dad and ask them to turn "Ba" on for me. We all dance and sing together! I also learned to hop from Baby Bop on Barney...she hops all over the place in one of her songs!

Grandpa Fimmen "Pa" sneezes all the time, so when you ask me what Pa says I say "Aaaachew"! I love to get in my bathroom cabinets to pull out the wash clothes and I pretend I am washing my face like mom and dad do. I am such a big girl!

I can sing and when asked sing "la la la" or I try to repeat whatever mom is trying to sing! Mom thinks I have such a cute voice! Maybe I will be on American Idol one day!! Every time I see a clock with arms I say "tick tock".

At Grama Fimmen's house one day we were watching basketball and Gma taught me how to be a cheerleader. When anyone asks me to be one I throw my arms up in the air just like cheerleaders do! Grama lives across the street to a place that teaches karate lessons so I learned how to karate chop!

I got my 6th tooth (bottom left). I have transitioned from formula to whole milk. My favorite main courses are pizza, hot dogs, chicken and mac n cheese. I still love my veggies....but will only eat baby food veggies. And I LOVE bananas!!

I love to look out of windows to see all the action outside. I say "shh shh shh" when I want everyone to be quiet and listen! I love to help clean up. I now take my dirty diapers over to the trash...I pull open the trash can and drop them in and then shut the trash can just like a BIG girl! I learned how to put my blocks together and to pull them apart. I can also scribble with my magnetic pad....I can't wait until they let me use real crayons and markers!

One day Grama, Aunt Jenny and me went down to mommy's work to see her. We went out to lunch, shopped and then went to the Wizard of Oz display. Some of the pictures of the fun time are below. I got my picture taken with Dorothy, the tin man, the lion and the scarecrow AND I got to look like a munchkin!

We went down to Pittsburg a few weeks ago and I got to play with everyone! I even got to meet my 2nd cousin Lucy for the very first time!! It was so neat! I even gave her kisses!!

Well, it's past my bedtime...I better go to bed before mommy and daddy get upset!

It's been awhile...and I feel guilty!

I have been so busy lately that I have forgotten to blog! Sorry to all you faithful readers out there...ha! I have been really busy since I officially became a walker!!! Mommy and Daddy went out of town last weekend and I had a long sleepover at Grama and Pa Fimmen's house. It was so mush fun! The weather was nice and we got to play outside!! I just love hanging out with them, but was happy when mommy and daddy came home too!!


Mom, Dad and Grama have been having some struggles with what to feed me. See, I am pretty picky and let them know it! I would rather just eat Goldfish, Cheerios, crackers, bread...anything carbohydrate!! I have decided I am sick of baby food....except for some yummy fruit - I will eat it out of a baby food jar sometimes. I really like chicken fingers!


Grama had a painter come paint the inside of their house and now I can show everyone what a painter does! I move my arm up and down like I am painting!!! I still love to drive my Barbie car and have lots of fun riding in my wagon - it was nice out one day and Daddy took me for a ride outside in it!! I love to throw kisses (from my ear, not my mouth) and am starting to want to feed myself...it is cool how messy it gets! Good thing Murphy is around to clean up after me...it is really funny how I am her best friend now - she just loves me and won't leave my side when it is dinner or snack time!


Now that I can walk I get around SO fast! Before mom and dad even know it I am tricking them by climbing up 2 stairs!! I am so funny that I wait for them to come get me and then I giggle like crazy and try to go as fast as I can up the stairs!! It is such a fun game!! I think they like it too because they sure run to me fast when they see me on the stairs! Fun stuff!


One day I thought I was so funny and when Grama Fimmen had me on her lap I lifted up her shirt and pressed her belly button!! HA!! I can say "bubbles" (kind of). Actually I can sound most first letters of words after people ask me to (i.e. I say "ca" for clock or "Ba" for Becky (my parent teacher educator)! Becky thinks I am pretty advanced for my age!!! Mommy, Daddy and Grama F. were so excited! Now Grama is working on some of my areas I was not as brilliant on, like stacking blocks and using a shape sorter!!


Now that I am walking I got my first pair of big girl walking shoes from Stride Rite. I was so excited, but I think mom and dad had a little sticker shock!!! Especially since the lady at the store said they would have to bring me back in 3 months for a new pair!!


I love to pretend....for example, I now pretend like I am eating and will share. I make little eating sounds when I put make believe food up to my mouth and say "aah" after I am done! I can now stand myself up in the middle of the room with no help of anyone or anything! I still just love to play with balls and call for them to come out to play with me "ball!!". I love it when people chase me...I get the major giggles and run as fast as I can. Daddy is really good at chasing and getting me!


I have a new sound that for some reason makes Daddy laugh like crazy and although I know mommy thinks it is hilarious, I think she may be a little embarrassed!!! When anyone asks me what I stinker says I tell them by blowing a big and loud raspberry! It is a crowd favorite!!!


I can point out my belly, nose, mouth and eyes when asked. I know what my shoes and socks are and help mommy and daddy when they dress me by pulling my arms through the shirts! When I get sleepy I get the major giggles and get so slap happy!


I had my 12 month doctor appointment and checked out well! I weigh 24lbs and 3 oz (87th percentile), am 29" long (36th percentile) and have a head circumference of 18" (67th percentile). Don't worry...the doctor said that I am not doomed to be a short fat kid!!! hahahaha!!!!


I am a bit of a clown and love to make people laugh!! I have a new funny thing I do...Grama Fimmen would say to me "Kate, be careful...if you fall you will cry" - when she says cry I scrunch my face up in a sad face and make a funny cry sound!!! It makes everyone crack up and then say it over and over so I fake cry!!! Mommy cracks up the hardest over this one!


When I want you to listen to something I say "shh, shh, shh" so we can hear. Grama Fimmen taught me this...me listen for airplanes, garbage trucks (I love those things), motorcycles and all sorts of things. I love to watch for birdies with Grama Fimmen too!! They are so sweet...Gram put out a new bird feeder....I hope that means the birdies will come over to play all the time!


My favorite shows are Barney and Sesame Street! Barney is the best though!!! I say "Ba" and love all the music. I dance through the entire show!!


Well, that was a long update, but it was long overdo!

I'm a WALKER!!!

I have been taking little steps here and there....but today is the official day I am a walker! I can walk halfway across the room...it is really fun! I love to see everyone's expression and love it when they cheer me on!! "YEH Kate"!!

Some other fun stuff I do not know if you know about...

• I climb stairs
• I can sound like a doggie, a fishie, a lion and kinda like a cow!
• I can eat big girl food and am getting pretty sick of soft baby food!
• I love the outdoors! It has been really nice outside the past few days, so Grama and I have spent most our time outside...and I just love it! We had a picnic today!
• Unlike my mommy, I LOVE bananas!! I take big bites of them! Mom said banana's are a food Grama and Daddy have to feed me!
• I love mac and cheese...the best food ever invented! It is a carb (my favorite) with a really fun bright orange sauce on it! Mmmmm!!!
• I love playing with my Little People
• I still love Baby Bella and Glow (my glow worm)
• When I go to bed I like to go down with one paci in my mouth, one paci in my right hand and one paci in my left hand! So cool!
• I love it when mom and dad turn the interior lights on and off in the car
• I still love the song "the wheels on the bus"
• I love to throw things behind the dresser and say "uh oh" every time I do it. Poor mom has to pull the entire dresser away from the wall to pick up what I dropped. It is so amusing!
• I have to point to my big pictures of me in the hall on the way to my bedroom and mom says "Kate", "Kate", "Kate", "Kate", "Kate"....I love to do the same things over and over. Routine in neat!
• Every morning when mom and dad drop me off at Grama and Grandpa's I do the same thing....I tell Grama her coffee is "hot", I point to the pictures on the refridgerator, I stop and see what is on Sesame Street, I say "bye-Bye" to mom and dad (and they try to get me to give them kisses) and then must go by the front window to wave bye to them and blow them kisses. Oh, I also point out everything that is messy to Grama by telling her "uh oh" and "uck"
• I sometimes blow kisses from my ear, not my mouth

I should have mentioned....I had my first birthday pictures taken last Friday. Grama and mom took me. The place was running about 30 minutes behind. I did not mind because I was entertained with trying to play with the Leggo table (which mom freaked out a bit over since there are so many GERMS) and trying to play with the big kids. Those big kid boys did not scare me! I would walk right up to them and try to steal their leggo's and tried to get them to let me play with their ball. I love balls! When it was our turn for pictures I tried to cooperate, but the photographer made everything so messy by sprinkling rose petals all over the floor. I kinda panicked since it was so messy....I tried to tell him to clean up fast by telling him "uh oh" and "uck!", but her did not clean up fast enough!!! I decided I was done with my 1st birthday pictures and cried the rest of the appointment. I think I stressed out Mom. There were not many pictures to choose from! Oh well...now she and Grama have a story to tell! heehee!

My BIG 1st Birthday!

It is official...I am 1 year old!!! I had such a fun birthday long weekend and party! On my actual birthday mom, dad, and both my Grama's and Pa's all went to Pizza Shoppe for dinner and a little party! Dad reserved us our very own room so I could run around as much as I wanted! It was so much fun...I especially love their ground beef pizza!

My MONKEY party was Saturday at 1pm! All my friends and family came to visit me! We played fun games, ate lots of yummy food...I even got to eat my very own birthday cake!!! I got so many wonderful presents from everyone...thank you! I can't wait until my 2nd birthday party...I will have to start thinking about what kind of party I want then!!!!

Hallmark Valentine's Card...cool!

I was so surprised and excited to open up my Valentine's Day card from Mom and Dad! It played such cool music. They caught me on video!!!

Hi! Happy Sunday!

This has been such a fun weekend! I had my first Valentine's day and it was really neat. I got lots of fun red and pink presents and I gave lots of hugs and kisses! Friday night mom, dad and I went out to dinner at Jalepenos. I am such a good girl at restaurants. I love to stare at everyone and play at the table. Mom always puts water with ice cubes in my sippy cup and I love to shake the cup around and make noise.

On Valentine's Day we got our new furniture for the living room delivered. It looks really neat, but I miss my big and empty playroom to go crazy in! Daddy got me the biggest, reddest teddy bear I have ever seen...it is so cool...I like to give it hugs and kisses! It was so neat to run around with my push toy like I own the place! Grama Fimmen came over for dinner and played with me while mom and dad made a really yummy dinner!

I played with Daddy all day Sunday while mommy was having a day with the girls. Grandpa Horton came over Sunday for dinner and he played with me! I had so much fun!

Some of my new tricks....I say "yuck", "ouch", "booze" (when Grama tells me I can not have any of her wine she says "yucky booze Kate" and I say "boozzzz"). When you ask me what a doggie says I pant like one, I kinda make the lion growl noise when you ask me what a lion says. I can point out Peanut, my mom and my dad in my picture book. I can open drawers and cabinets...I especially like to pull out all mom's hair products while she is getting ready and all my bibs when I am playing in my room!

I say "yucky and uh oh" when ever anything is dirty or out of place - I like a clean house...and clean hands! I love mini goldfish crackers, mini nilla wafer cookies, Ritz crackers....basically any carbohydrate. I still am not a fan of meat and I still love candy...when I can get a lick! I am still drinking my formula out of a bottle, but I drink water and apple juice out of a sippy cup. I love my closet as it is a mini playroom and can grab and get to you my lion if you ask.

I love taking bathies and especially love to play with all my rubber duckies...I no longer have to use the baby tub...I sit in the big girl tub all by myself. I love the tub so much that mom has to drain all the water out and we have to say "bye bye" to the water in order for me to let her get me out of the tub. I rarely take my afternoon nap, as naps are for babies and I am almost a toddler...sorry mom, dad and grama!

I love to go outside, but it still too cold to play out their much...I say brrr and point outside because I want to go out and play, but they all tell me "no". I love to sit by grama's front window and watch cars, trucks, buses and garbage trucks go by...I love trucks! When someone is eating something that looks tasty to me I say...Mmm over and over and over again until they give me some. If they do not give me any I get angry!

I know some sign language...."more", "all done" and "than you". I am getting really good at thank you, but I have my own version...instead of making it look like I am blowing kisses (like it is supposed to be), I give the thank you sign from my ear! Everyone gets it and thinks I am so smart...I get lots of kisses for thanking people. Must be kinda important. Mom is trying to teach me please, but what's the point... the sign for "more" gets me what I want!
