Bye Bye Hawaii!!

We had such an amazing vacation - one we will NEVER forget!  We love Hawaii and hope to be back soon!  Next time we will check out other islands to explore.  Mahalo and Aloha!

Here we are on the rental car shuttle and at the airport..

Cha Cha Cha Salsaria!!

Daddy and I felt like Mexican food (imagine that) and we had some time to kill before we had to go to the airport, so we drive to the east side of the island and ate at a really yummy Mexican restaurant right on the harbor called "Che Cha Cha Salsaria.  It had an amazing view!

Mommy spilled her margarita, but the waiter was really nice and brought her a new one right away.  We had a great dinner and then headed to the airport.....boohoo!

Pearl!!!

While at the Dole Plantation I was able to pick an oyster and get a Pearl.  It was a cool thing to do and I was really happy that I got a PINK pearl in my oyster!  The pearl is now in my jewelry box and one day we will put it in a setting. I can't wait until then!

Dole Pineapple Plantation

The final activity on our ititinerary for the last day was to visit the Dole Plantation.  This is where they grow all the millions of pineapples we all love and eat!  It was pretty cool.  We got to watch a pineapple cutting demonstration and we got to try the freshest pineapple possible...YUMMY!

We explored the gift shop (it was pretty cool) and walked around the grounds to see the pineapples and the worlds largest maze!

Before we left we made sure we tried a Dole whip....YUMMY. This is the pineapple float mommy always wants to get at Disney World!  It was a fun way to end our exploring for the day!

Shave Ice capital of the WORLD!!!

All we can say is that the 9 hour flight to Hawaii was worth it if only to go to Hale'iwa to have Matsumoto's Shave Ice (deemed the best in the world).  We waited in about a 25 minute line (we heard it can be over 1 hour in peak times), but is was worth the wait.  The ice was so fine and fluffy.  We do think the syrup could be sweeter though...although, we would eat one every day of our life and not complain one bit!

Unfortunately, there was a line at Aoki's Shave Ice (a bout 25 ft from Matsumoto's). Aokis is deemed the 2nd best and we would have liked to be able to give that one a try too!

YUMMY AMAZINGNESS!

Oh, mom bought a T-shirt she loves it so much!

Walking through the town of Hale'iwa

We explored the town by walking through shops, art galleries and lots of cool little places.  It was a fun afternoon! My feet started to hurt, so I asked Dad to carry me....

North Shore

The first thing we did when we arrived in the North Shore was to eat at Breakers restaurant and bar in Hale'iwa.  It was yummy, but the decor was the best.  It looked like a place where all the surfers hang.  See, in the winter the waves at the North Shore get to be 15-20 feet high and all the best surfers in the world come here.  This is the surfing capital of the world!

Drive to Tantalus

The first thing we did after checking out of our hotel was to take the drive to Tantalus.  It is a 10 mile drive above Honolulu that ends with this smashing view of the ocean, Diamond Head, Waikiki Beach and Honolulu.  Totally awesome!
